Description

We're looking for a full-time Interaction Designer for our Amsterdam office. You will work on the interactive behaviour, visual appearance, and assistive capabilities of our web and mobile products. You will work as a core member of the Products & Marketing Team to create a great user experience through design and research. The Team is a cross-functional group of people comprised of consumer facing disciplines (i.e. Marketing, Design, Business Intelligence, Community and Product Management), who together shape the future of all eBuddy products.

You are able to bring the experience of current and new eBuddy products to the next level. You are passionate about what motivates people across the Globe to use applications and products. Working from a clear vision, you are able to define, test and create the most optimal, simple but effective user experience.

You will work closely with Product Management, Visual Design and Development in a creative process to identify, conceptualize and optimize new functionalities, features and products – and you don’t stop until the implementation meets your high standard of quality. As this is a strong team-effort, you are excellent at verbally rationalizing your designs and you welcome feedback, in order to reach the ultimate goal of enlightening the end-user. During the development of our products, you are available for the development team to optimize the user experience.

Your role

•    Design complex interactions for our Web (AJAX) and Mobile (J2ME, iPhone, Android) products
•    Set up, execute and analyze usability research and measurements
•    Work in the Products & Marketing team to define, refine and incorporate product requirements
•    Ensure accurate implementation of interaction designs
•    Create wireframes, application flows, prototypes and mock-ups where needed
•    Help develop and guard the eBuddy Identity both online & offline
•    Be the primary point of contact on interaction design matters

Your skills

•    Master / PhD in a related field.
•    4+ years of experience and a comprehensive understanding of experience design, information architecture, human science, and visual interaction design for both web and mobile products
•    You have a strong portfolio, demonstrating creative vision, leadership and innovation
•    You have a strong knowledge of and passion about the latest developments in internet, mobile technology, social networks and chat programs
•    You have experience in conducting usability research
•    You master the English language in speaking and writing
•    You use at least Illustrator and Photoshop and you have an understanding of Javascript, CSS and XHTML to create working prototypes
•    You strive for the highest possible quality of work
•    No 9-5 mentality
•    Sense of humor and excellent communication skills; you can persuade and motivate people
